Overview

If you carry a rifle with you every day, whether off-body in a pack or in your vehicle, it’s not a bad idea to carry a spare rifle mag on you. The Ironside Rifle Mag Carrier is compatible with 5.56 polymer, aluminum, and steel STANAG-type rifle magazines. It features 1.5" or 1.75" cantable belt loops and adjustable retention screws. It comes with a Carrier Connector which allows you to link this with other products in the Ironside Carrier System.

Specs

Fits 5.56 polymer, aluminum, and steel STANAG-type rifle magazines.
Use with a 1.5″ or 1.75″ wide belt (nothing smaller).
The texture on the inside of the belt loops is intended to grab the fabric of your pants and stabilize the carrier better.
Made from precision-formed .093″ Kydex.
All hardware adjusts retention.
Use the Carrier Connector to connect it to other Ironside Carriers, if desired.

FAQ

Ironside Rifle Mag Carrier vs. Ragnarok Rifle Mag Carrier?

The Ironside Rifle Mag Carrier is better for concealing under a coat, jacket, or button-up shirt. The Ragnarok carrier is better for overt stuff. Nonetheless, the Ironside mag carrier still works well with plate carriers and kit. The Ragnarok Rifle Mag Carrier, when combined with the Tek-Lok, is ideal for two-piece competition-style belts. When worn with a normal belt, like our NOVA Belt, for concealment purposes, the Ragnarok sticks out and prints a bit too much.

What kind of belt should I put this on?

Our NOVA Belt pairs extremely well with this holster and the Ironside Carrier System.
Other belts that we've tested and recommend are Kore Essentials and Ciguera.
Ironside Carriers will not work well on over-the-pants style battle belts like our Orion. In some cases, the Ironside can work on thinner competition-style two-piece belts, but its not suited for that very well.

How well does this work when wearing a plate carrier?

Because this Rifle Mag Carrier is designed to work well for concealment, the mag rides very close to your body. When wearing a plate carrier, this placement can interfere with certain cummerbunds, making it uncomfortable or difficult to draw the mag. If you're going to use this with a plate carrier, it will work best if the cummerbund is elastic (form-fitting) and not loaded down in that area.
