The ESS IR Protection Lenses are drop-in replacements for the ESS Crossbow and Crosshair glasses. They protect against laser threats in both the visible and infrared (IR) spectrums. Their extra-thick 2.4mm polycarbonate construction also provides excellent protection from impacts and debris.

TERMINOLOGY

• Optical density (OD) measures how much a filter attenuates laser light at a specific wavelength. A higher OD value means greater protection from laser radiation.
• Visible Light Transmission (VLT): While OD focuses on laser light attenuation, VLT indicates how much visible light passes through the filter. 
• OD 4 vs OD 5: An OD 4 filter allows 0.01% of the laser light to pass through, while an OD 5 filter allows only 0.001%.
