The TA Targets A-DAP system has been our steel target of choice for many years. It provides positive feedback for effective hits, has exceptional durability, and is extremely safe to use. Plus, it has a distinctive “ring” when hit that is easy to hear. This is the larger C-Zone size target, which we find to be good for longer distances where the Mini A-DAP can be brutal. This model also features a reactive A-zone that swings freely of the target, making feedback much more clear.

FAQ

What makes these better than other brands? I can get targets cheaper elsewhere.
You get what you pay for, and when it comes to a product that can be ruined and/or cause injury, we don’t like to mess around. TA Targets is a well-regarded company that produces targets of the highest quality. Not only does their steel hang at an angle to eliminate hazardous spalling, but they also have high standards for the steel they work with.

Many steel targets are advertised as “AR500,” but their actual Brinell hardness rating is lower, which causes the target to be softer and, thus, more dangerous to shoot. TA Targets advertised as AR550 have an actual hardness rating of 550 or above. This is why we trust them over other companies—we know we can safely put hundreds of thousands of rounds on their targets.
What is the life expectancy of this target?
If you use it as recommended, it should last forever. If you abuse them as we do, well, there are some targets on our range that have taken hundreds of thousands of rounds over three years, and we still haven’t had to replace them.
Are these made in America?
By the FTC Standards, yes, they are. Though TA has much higher standards than that, so they’re very up-front with where everything is sourced from. The armored plating is produced in mills in Sweden at one of, if not the best, steel facilities in the world. It’s a higher quality armor plating than American manufacturers offer, which is why they searched internationally for the best option. All manufacturing, processes, forming, fabrication and other steps are done by TA in Pennsylvania. Technically “Made in America”… but better.
