Ops-Core FAST SF High Cut Gen2 Helmet System

$1,80000

Overview

Ops-Core is one of our go-to options for helmet systems. The FAST SF Gen 2 offers a significant weight reduction over the Gen 1 by way of the Gen 2 FAST SF Shell, LockDown liner, and Head-Loc chin strap, while still providing protection against fragmentation, blunt impacts, and level IIIA pistol threats.

The Ops-Core aftermarket eco-system is also very robust, allowing end-users plenty of options for mounting ear pro, lights, strobes, helmet covers, and everything in between.

What's Included

  • 1x Ops-Core FAST SF High Cut Gen2 Helmet System
  • 1x Ops-Core Accessory Kit

Specs

Features

  • Ballistic protection from 9mm rounds (1200f/s) with a shell weight of just 1.23 lbs/557 grams (Size L) the FAST SF offers the same level of ballistic protection as its predecessor but with a 10% reduction in overall system weight.
  • LockDown Liner System incorporates a user-customizable suspension system with multiple strategically placed pads, encouraging airflow, and the moisture-wicking fabric and reticulated foam, offers adaptable density for diverse head shapes and comfortably supports heavy VAS and NVG systems.
  • Conformable nape pad and cable Occ-Dial® offer enhanced stability, securing a larger contact area on the rear of the user's head, adapting to individual contours for an improved fit compared to other, more rigid systems.
  • Redesigned Head-Loc Flex retention system introduces a unique convertible chin cup that can be worn either over or under the chin, eliminating the need for a mask extender with the 02 and CBRN kit for most users.
  • PowerPath ARC Rail system provides a lightweight mounting solution for Ops-Core headborne systems and features a unique, behind the rail channel for the safe routing of NVG cables.
  • Lightweight Modular Bungee Shroud (MBS) reduces snag hazards and features carabiner clips to improve NVG retention and stability while reducing interference with other rail-mounted accessories.
  • External VELCRO loop kit allows for quick and easy attachment and detachment of headborne accessories.

Terminology

  • Obliquity: Deviation from parallelism or perpendicularity or the amount of such deviation. In our context, without using ten-dollar words, this is the angle at which an object strikes the helmet.
  • RCC: Right Circular Cylinder. These are cylinders of varying weights that are used in fragmentation testing.
  • FSP: Fragment Simulation Projectiles. Extremely similar to the RCC, but FSPs feature a chisel-shaped nose.
  • V0 or V50: A ballistic test where the helmet is placed over a clay-filled head form that, for helmets, usually includes a sequence of five ballistic impacts, one each to the front, rear, left, and right sides, and the helmet crown. V0 is the velocity at which zero projectiles penetrate the armor, and V50 is the velocity at which 50% of the projectiles penetrate the armor. These tests are usually performed at 0° obliquity with some tolerance on either side to provide some room for error.

Ballistic Testing

**Not all suspension/retention options are tested to full stated standards.
