The ESSE-3 is a mid-size fixed-blade knife that lends itself well to a variety of uses. This model features a 1095 high-carbon steel blade with an emphasis on durability. 1095 is an excellent choice for overall toughness, edge retention, and ease of sharpening. However, it doesn’t have the corrosion-resistant properties of comparable stainless steels, so more upkeep is needed. This model has a grey Micarta handle and a partially serrated edge for more cutting power.
