Sometimes 17 rounds isn’t enough… and that’s when mag extensions come into play. It can also be beneficial to square off the aggressive angle of the floor plate on Glock mags. A squared-off basepad allows the magazine to fill the palm of your hand better, which can aid in consistent indexing. It adds plus 5 in .40 S&W magazines and plus 6 in 9mm magazines. Every basepad includes a longer spring to replace the shorter OEM spring.

We’ve been running Arredondos for a long time and have found them to be very capable.

Left: They fit fine with magwells. Right: Magazines that are a little longer thanks to Arredondo basepads can be easier to grab from mag carriers like the Esstac Double Pistol GAP KYWI.

The yellow tape is to mark property. These basepads are a perfect combination with our MARS carriers.

Have you ever had one of these fall apart?
Nope. We’ve had the spring wear out (loosen) and then the slide won’t lock to the rear because of the loss of spring tension. But that was after three years of use and several thousand rounds through that mag.
Why are these so expensive?
Because it’s a good product. Every +5 basepad on the market is around $40-50. If you’re wanting something less expensive, check out the OEM +2 we offer.
Are these only for Glock?
The ones we sell are. But you can check out Arredondo’s site for other models. Like ones for the M&P.
