The OBBB Eliminated the NFA $200 Tax Stamp Fee

Thanks to some significant legislative work last year in the OBBB, the normal $200 NFA tax stamp fee was reduced to $0. It went into effect January 1st, and there has been a massive demand for suppressor and short barreled rifle paperwork from the ATF—over 130,000 new forms have been filed. However, while the NFA has had its financial teeth removed, the unconstitutional restrictions and illegal registration still remain.

The GOA's OBB Lawsuit Against the NFA Itself

For years, T.REX ARMS has documented the many constitutional and practical problems with the 1934 National Firearms Act, with videos on suppressors, short barreled rifles, and the history of the ATF. In the meantime, we have also attempted to eliminate bad gun law in Tennessee by lobbying to end restrictions on carry, short barreled rifle and shotgun bans, and ammunition taxes in our local legislature. But now it is time for us to go after the National Firearms Act itself. Gun Owners of America (GOA) has filed One Big Beautiful Lawsuit against the ATF and DOJ to eliminate large sections of the NFA.
