Section GENERAL 1-1. Scope a. This manual describes Switchboards, Telephone, Manual SB-22/PT and SB-22A/PT. It covers their installa- tion, operation and maintenance. It also includes operation under unusual conditions, cleaning and inspection of the equipment and replacement of authorized parts. b. Switchboard SB-22/PT uses one of two accessory kits, MX-230/PT or MX-230A/PT. The MX-230/PT is an ob- solete kit containing a canvas carrying case. This case is being replaced by a metallic case in the MX-230A/PT. Switchboard SB-22A/PT uses Accessory Kit MX-2915/PT. Otherwise, both switchboards are similar in appearance and electrical characteristics. Switchboard SB-22A/PT will have a trunk pack as part of Accessory Kit MX-2915/PT and can therefore be connected to trunk lines. 1-2.
