Section Il. DESCRIPTION AND DATA 3. Purpose and Use Dummy Antenna TS—235/UP provides a power absorbing ter- mination for the r-f (radio-frequency) transmission line of a radar set operating in the frequency range of 500 to 1,500 mc (megacycles). The dummy antenna allows the radar transmitter to be operated without radiating energy into space. The input end of the dummy antenna contains a probe and a jack that are used to connect a wavemeter or an echo box to the r-f line for test pur- poses. 4. Technical Characteristics Frequency oer 00!to Lo00mme Standing wave ratio: 500:to1,000 mcs ete es 2.0 db (decibels) (maxi- mum). 1,000:to'1,500 iC ee 1.0 db (maximum).
