Carbon monoxide/dioxide gas is not visible and it has no smell, but it can kill you. Breathing air with carbon monoxide/dioxide produces symptoms of headache, dizziness, loss of muscular control, a sleepy feeling, and coma. Brain damage or death can result from heavy exposure. • Carbon monoxide occurs in exhaust fumes of fuel-burning heaters, such as the MBU Burner Units, and internal combustion engines. Carbon monoxide can become dangerously concentrated under conditions of no air movement. Precautions must be followed to ensure crew safety when you operate this equipment. • OPEN roof vents to provide ventilation and prevent the accumulation of carbon monoxide gas. • BE ALERT at all times during kitchen operation for exposure symptoms. IMMEDIATELY VENTILATE the Kitchen.
