29 January 2025 vii Introduction Security Force Assistance is one of the most important things that our Army does. This is a mission that is executed across the continuum of conflict. US Army forces work with our partners and allies during competition to set conditions to prevail in combat by fighting from a position of advantage or dissuade our enemies from initiating a conflict. In crisis, US advisors are able to rapidly embed in partner nation formations and enable those partners to significantly increase their combat power by supporting them with US enablers and intelligence. This rapid increase in coalition combat power can have a significant deterrent effect in a crisis situation.
