It describes the fundamentals of evaluation and how leaders at all levels can better evaluate standards-based training. This publication and the evaluation fundamentals within it complement planning processes described in Marine Corps Tactical Publication 7-20A, Unit Training Guide, and the preceding Marine Corps reference publications. Evaluation is one of the most important steps in unit training management and the Systems Approach to Training and Education process. During this phase, the commander, or unit leader, identifies areas of individual and unit training that need more focused attention.
