The Marine Corps rifle squad is the fundamental maneuver unit of the Marine Corps infantry. It is organized to provide multiple fire units and mutually supporting combined arms effects on the battlefield. Time and again, the tide of a battle has been changed through a squad leader's decisive employment of their squad. This publication's purpose is to serve as the primary guide for squad leaders to organize, train, and employ their squads. This publication is not meant to be an allinclusive document regarding the finer details of the rifle squad's employment across the range of Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) missions.
