i 1. Scope This publication provides overarching guidelines for planning and executing joint reception, staging, onward movement, and integration (JRSOI) of the Armed Forces of the United States. It explains the process of JRSOI using three major functions — command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence; force protection; and the JRSOI support organization. Its focus is at the supported combatant command level. 2. Purpose This publication has been prepared under the direction of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It sets forth doctrine and selected joint tactics, techniques, and procedures (JTTP) to govern the joint activities and performance of the Armed Forces of the United States in joint operations and provides the doctrinal basis for US military involvement in multinational and interagency operations.
