1. Purpose. This publication sets forth joint doctrine and joint tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS) operations by the US Military Services during the conduct of joint operations. It provides basic doctrine concerning command relationships, responsibilities, and procedures for JLOTS operations. 2. Application. Doctrine, principles, and guidance established in this publication are applicable to each of the Military Services, unified and specified commands, and the subordinate elements of these commands. Doctrine, principles, and procedures may also apply when significant forces of one Service are attached to forces of another Service or when significant forces of one Service support forces of another Service under criteria set forth in Joint Pub 0-2, UNAAF. 3.
