i 1. Scope This publication addresses the requirements and responsibilities and provides guidelines for the operation of terminal facilities in support of a US joint force. It describes the physical layout of water, land, and air terminals and describes operations at each type of facility. The focus of this publication is on the supported combatant command level. 2. Purpose This publication has been prepared under the direction of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It sets forth doctrine and selected joint tactics, techniques, and procedures (JTTP) to govern the joint activities and performance of the Armed Forces of the United States in joint operations and provides the doctrinal basis for US military involvement in multinational and interagency operations.
