Joint urban operations involve a variety of unique operational considerations such as extensive man-made construction, large noncombatant populations, and complex sociological, political, economic, and cultural interactions within those populations. To overcome these challenges, US military forces must be able to apply the full range of tools available to a commander tasked with conducting joint urban operations.
