1. Purpose and Scope a. The purpose of this manual is to provide train- ing guidance for officers and noncommissioned officers of the transportation battalion, infantry division. b. The scope of this manual includes the organiza- tion, mission, major items of equipment, functions, and employment of the transportation battalion, in- fantry division, and assigned units; TOE's 55-75, 55-76, 55-77 and 55-78. Tactical employment of armored carrier unit is presented in FM 7-40 and FM 7-10. The text includes appendix I which pro- vides a complete list of references on training pub- lications applicable to this transportation battalion. c.
