The purpose of this field manual is to establish doctrine for the surface movement and handling of American National Standards Institute/International Organization for Standardization (AN- SI/ISO) containers to support the supply system in a theater of operations. Information presented in this manual is based on current logistics doctrine and theater organization and is essen- tially a synthesis and abridgement of transportation and supply doctrine contained in studies previously approved by Head- quarters, Department of the Army.
