Purpose and Relation to Other Manuals This manual is intended to serve as a guide for personnel who must design waterborne sewage collection, pumping, treatment and disposal facilities in the theater of operations. The manual should be used with the Army Facilities Components System (AFCS), TM 5-301, 5–302, and 5–303. Material in this manual has been drawn from many Department of the Army Field Manuals, Technical Manuals, and commercial publications. References are made to the source of the material throughout the text, and in appendix A.
