This manual provides interim guidance to commanders, staff officers, and other personnel concerned with Engineer support under the TASTA-70 concept of organization and operation. This information can be utilized to facilitate reorganization under the TASTA concept. Firm information on the organizational structure and composition of units will be as contained in TOE's when published. Although the basic TASTA-70 study has been approved by Department of the Army, detailed doctrine contained in this Test Field Manual is under continuing development and review. This test manual will be superseded by FM 5-162, Engineer Construction and Con- struction Support Units. Readers are encouraged to submit comments and recommendations for changes that will improve the clarity, accuracy, and completeness of the manual.
