CHAPTER 1 I NTRODUCTION Section I. GENERAL 1. Purpose The purpose of this manual is to provide guidance to the officers and noncommissioned officers of the armored division engineer battalion in the performance of their duties. 2. Scope This manual contains specific material on the organization, mission, employment, operational methods, training, equipment, administration, and special problems of the armored division engineer battalion. It is based upon TOE (ROCAD) 5-215, 5-216, 5-217, and 5-218. Minor changes in TOE will not affect the manual since organization and equipment are not discussed in detail. The material presented herein is applicable to atomic warfare. Where applicable, appropriate modifying guidance for nonatomic warfare is integrated throughout the manual. Note.
