SECTION I GENERAL * 1. ScoPE.-a. This manual covers the service of the piece for guns, 3-inch (15 pdr.), M1902MI and M1903, on 3-inch (15 pdr. barbette carriage, rapid-fire seacoast artillery. The duties of the members of the gun section in the service of the piece are contained in section III and in the drill table, section VII. b. The service of the piece prescribed herein is intended as a guide for the battery commander. Changes in the details of the service of the piece may be made to meet local conditions. E 2. REFERENCES.-The references listed in the Appendix should be consulted, especially those pertaining to ammunition and to the operation, care, and maintenance of matériel.
