Section I. GENERAL 1-1. Purpose and Scope a. This manual presents technical and proce- dural information on the training of military free fall parachutists. It includes methods and apparatus used in training military free fall parachutists, attachment and wearing of equip- ment, jumpmaster duties, jump procedures, safety requirements, and technical data on the use and repair of oxygen equipment for high altitude jumps. Tactical application of military free fall parachuting techniques is also included in this manual. b. The contents of this manual are applicable to— (1) General war, to include consideration of the nuclear battlefield environment. (2) Limited war.
