This field manual (FM) sets forth techniques and procedures for implementing United States (U.S.) Army psychological operations (PSYOP) doctrine contained in FM 33-1. It provides general guidance for commanders and planners who must consider the psychological impact of military operations on various target audiences. It also provides guidance for PSYOP personnel preparing operational elements for commitment. It describes procedures for carrying out PSYOP programs in support of other military operations. PSYOP commanders and trainers at all levels should use it with the Army Training and Evaluation Program (ARTEP) to plan and conduct their training. It integrates PSYOP into the Army's battlefield operating systems (BOS) and is intended for ArmyWide dissemination.
