It is/intended for use as a ready reference and as a text for the presentation of instruction on the organization and functions of these Army aviation units. SCOPE a. Doctrine is provided on the operation of Army aviation units that engage in combat and aviation combat support of the land forces. For the combat service support functions of Army aviation units, refer to FM 55-40, Army Combat Service Support Air Transport Opera- tion. b.
