ATP 3-21.11 discusses the techniques used by the Infantry rifle company while conducting missions. These are techniques and are not prescriptive. The mission variables of mission, enemy, terrain and weather, troops and support available, time available, and civil considerations condition will dictate how the company commander accomplishes the tasks. This publication provides the commander and the subordinates with an array of methods that can be used or modified. ATP 3-21.11 has eight chapters and three appendixes. The chapters consist of an organizational chapter and a chapter on offense, defense, and stability operations. Defense support of civil authorities is not covered. Throughout the chapters, tactical enabling operations are included in the discussions.
