This pamphlet. one of the series which will c the Ordnance Design Handbook. deals with the subjp.ct of Exterior Ballistics, covering Tra jectories, Differential Effects and Data for Projectiles. The pamphlet pertains to that phase of projectile life starting at the gun muzzle (or, for a rocket, at burnout) and ending at the point of burst or impact. The subject is covered in a manner intended primarily to assist the ammunition designer in recognizing and dealing with the design parameters of projectile weight, shape, Inuzzle velocity, yaw, drag and stability, in designing for optimum results in range, time of flight and accuracy. It is hoped that it will also prove helpful to other personnel of the Ord nance Corps and of contractors to the Ordnance Corps.
