Intelligence is critical to unified land operations and decisive action. We have made tremendous progress over the last ten years by utilizing lessons learned to improve the intelligence warfighting function. Intelligence enables mission command, and mission command facilitates initiative and allows commanders and staffs to execute tailored solutions for complex problems in a fast-paced environment. The synergistic relationship between intelligence and all of the warfighting functions ensures the Army remains the dominant land force in the world. People are the central component of the intelligence warfighting function, and we will continue to develop and emphasize the human aspects of our profession. Teamwork is essential to intelligence support and staff integration.
