The TLR-1 is one of the most recognized pistol weapon lights on the market, alongside the venerable X300U. The TLR-1 has always done a great job balancing budget and performance, and the new HL-X model is no different. It features a new and improved switch design and front-loading rechargeable batteries. The HL-X features a maximum output of 1,500 lumens and 20,000 candela with the Streamlight SL-B9 battery, but it also takes standard CR123 batteries at a bit of a performance loss.
