The G33 includes a spacer for mounting behind optics that are lower 1/3 height, or you can skip the spacer if you're using an absolute co-witness optic.

Should the G33 be butted up to whatever optic I'm using?
For optimal results, yes. It can be backed off some and you still have a good sight picture.
Do I have to use the included spacer if I have a lower 1/3 height optic like the EXPS-3?
