The Romeo 4XT-Pro has become one of the more popular red dots on the market today, mainly because of its price point and all of the features that it brings at that price, and it does it very, very well. So it has very good night vision settings, the red dot lasts for a very long time, it has all of the things that you want in a micro sized red dot, and it just, like I said, does it very well for a good price.
However, there is one downside to this red dot, and One Hundred Concepts has given us a solution to remedy that problem. Now this red dot, if you are using it during the day, you have your daytime settings on, you accidentally hit the night vision button, and it goes down to night vision settings, so during the day it's basically invisible. And that doesn't take a hold of the button, or anything is just a click, and you'll be in night vision settings. Now at the same time, if you're in night vision settings and you accidentally bump this button, it goes all the way to max brightness when you don't want it to.
So we wanted to provide a solution that would protect this button from getting accidentally bumped because during my testing of this optic it happened pretty frequently. So we reached out to One Hundred Concepts, and they provided us a solution, and that is the button blocker. And there is just a 3D printed piece of material that goes around the battery cap, around the optic, and gives you that shroud around those buttons. So it's super simple to install, you literally just put it on, clips in place just like that, and you're good to go. And you can move it back and forth just to make sure it's centered properly.
And this thing is pretty durable. During our testing with the prototype versions, we dropped it six times from waist height onto the protection itself with just the optic before it broke. And then after that, One Hundred Concepts beefed up the ridges around it. So this is a very durable piece of kydex that's not intended to be taken on and off. If you do continue to take it on and off, you will start to get some stretch points on it. So once it goes on, it's on, you don't need to take it off after that. But that is the One Hundred Concepts button blocker. If you guys have any questions regarding this, how to install it, if you guys have any issues with it, go ahead and email us at [email protected].
