Military field manuals, tactical manuals, and publications contain some of the most useful information about all kinds of operations. The Marine Rifle Squad Handbook covers some of the most basic fundamental skills that a four-man team would need to perform its duties. These include all the tasks and skills required for moving, communicating, and engaging the enemy, as well as operating with other squads inside of larger groups. 

We’ve chosen this and Scouting and Patrolling as two important books to carry, but we have also reprinted them with upscaled graphics, better fonts, new section headers, page numbers, and other minor quality-of-life upgrades to ensure that you get the best reprint of these important works possible. 

Marine Rifle Squad is an excellent introduction to Small Unit Tactics (SUT). This is the Marine Corps flavor, so if you prefer the Army equivalent, check out ATP 3-21.8 Infantry Squad and Platoon. There are some notable differences between the Marine Corps and Army approach to SUT; however, there are more similarities than either would probably like to admit. That said, we like the Marine Corps’ simpler approach, which stresses more importance on small unit leader initiative and less on a playbook of battle drills.
